This festive community event brought together people of all ages to experience the joy and traditions of the Lunar New Year. \nDuring the celebration\, students took the stage to share New Year songs and greetings\, including a joyful group performance of the well-known festive song “Gong Xi Gong Xi.” Their performance added warmth and energy to the celebration and reflected the cultural learning taking place in our classrooms. \nStudents’ families and many visitors from the community also enjoyed a wide variety of cultural activities and performances throughout the event. The event was filled with a warm and lively atmosphere. Several distinguished guests\, including the Director of the Overseas Community Affairs and Cultural Center\, were in attendance\, adding prestige and honor to the occasion. \nOne of the most anticipated moments of the ceremony was the presentation of a major honor to TCMLACS student Jennifer Hsiao. This year\, she represented the school in the Global Mandarin Chinese Speech Contest organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Overseas Community Affairs Council of the Republic of China (Taiwan). With her outstanding performance\, she won top honors\, becoming a role model and a source of pride for the entire school community. \nIn addition\, winners of the singing and speech contests gave wonderful and engaging performances. The guzheng performance from the cultural curriculum featured graceful and resonant melodies\, while the diabolo (Chinese yo-yo) class showcased dynamic movements and impressive skills\, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience. Two graduating students delivered speeches in which they reflected on their learning experiences and shared the challenges and rewards of studying Chinese. They expressed that learning the language not only strengthened their communication skills but also deepened their understanding of Chinese culture. Their heartfelt and eloquent speeches moved everyone in attendance. \nThe ceremony was further highlighted by the presence of two distinguished guests—the Chairman and a Board Member of the Overseas Community Affairs Council—whose attendance added significance to the event.
